Description

Games Development with Microsoft Visual C# .Net 3.5 for Windows and Xbox 360 will jumpstart your career as a programmer. C# is a modern, general-purpose, object-oriented programming language developed by Microsoft.

This course includes the fundamental topics you’ll need to know and covers additional topics that you’ll find helpful along the way. Begin with a comprehensive look at programming with C#, from the basic of classes to advanced topics such as polymorphism and abstraction. Then it’s on to DirectX in XNA Game Studio 3.1 as you learn how to create a game engine with support for cameras, lighting, terrain and sound.

While you will learn the basics of 2D and 3D graphics programming, you will also learn advanced topics such as controlling the level of detail in meshes, model animation and using the High Level Shader Language (HLSL) to create custom shaders and effects. You’ll also learn how to map user input via the mouse, keyboard to your in-game characters, and enhace your games using the analog controls and rumble feature of the XBox 360 gamepad.

Put your newfound knowledge to the test as you program complete games for Windows and the Microsoft ® Xbox 360 system!

What Can I Do With This Course Once I'm Done?

We have taken into consideration that the demand for games developers in East London is not as large as we would hope; as a result we have ensured that this course covers several key modules from the Microsoft Certified Professional Developer course which, while essential to games development in XNA also provide a stable background for individuals that would like to be able to step into corporate application development as well.  Click here to read more on our MCPD offerings.

The gaming community in South Africa is growing steadily every year and the need for games developers on a national level is increasing in proportion.  Developers writing games using XNA can publish their games online to XBox Live Marketplace** making them available for other intrepid gamers to purchase, download and play on their consoles.
