CompTIA Network+
Description
There are approximately 135,000 CompTIA Network+ certified professionals worldwide. The skills and knowledge measured by this examination were derived from an industry-wide job task analysis and validated through an industry-wide survey of more than 2,500 participants.
Earning a CompTIA Network+ certification demonstrates that a candidate can describe the features and functions of networking components, and possesses the knowledge and skills needed to install, configure and troubleshoot basic networking hardware, protocols and services. The exam tests technical ability in the areas of media and topologies, protocols and standards, network implementation, and network support. The exam also covers new technologies such as wireless networking and gigabit Ethernet.
Entrance Requirements
It is recommended that students in the Network+ course already have an A+ Certificate or equivalent experience.

- Media and Topologies
(e.g. Network & Networking Topologies, Media Connectors, Network Component Features) - Protocols and Standards
(e.g. OSI Model, TCP/IP, Network Services,Ipv4 & 6, Subnetting & Gateways, Security Protocols) - Network Implementation
(e.g. Server Operating Systems, VLANs, Configuring Remote Connectivity, Firewalls, NIC & Network Configuration Settings) - Network Support
(e.g. TCP/IP Utilities, Troubleshooting, Wiring Tools, Visual Indicators, Diagnostic Utilities, Modifying network Services)
Examinations and Assessments
Learners write the CCS IT examination, the pass mark for which is 60%. Learners may elect to write the International Microsoft examinations at CCS’s Authorized Prometric Testing Centre. The costs for International exams are not included in the course fees.
